Eurovision 2015 Finale

Eurovision 2015 FINAL: Thoughts

We gon’ rapapab, rapapab we gon’ rapapab tonight.

It’s 4:54am. I’ve made my tea, I’ve got my snacks and my mandarin. I’m ready for this. Eurovision 2015 Final, bring it ON!!! I’m so excited!!! I WONDER WHO AUSTRALIA WILL VOTE FOR?! Who will we give the infamous douze points to? I already know who I’m voting for- Sweden and Belgium, maybe Norway too if I’m feeling a little bit generous.

Let’s get started shall we?! *sips tea*

~

1. Slovenia
Maraaya – Here For You

A nice and upbeat song to start of the evening (or morning)! The air violin is the selling point of this song.

~

2. France
Lisa Angell – N’oubliez pas

Yay, a song I have yet to hear! It’s beautiful! I love France! I love French! They always do pretty terribly in Eurovision but people should vote for them! I will n’oubliez pas la France!

~

3. Israel
Nadav Guedj – Golden Boy

The more I see this guy, the more I like him. He’s such a golden boy. Still digging the Arabic feel of this song. At this point I’m just so happy that Eurovision is on so I doubt I’ll be hating on anything!

~

4. Estonia
Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday

This song is just dripping in swagger. I can’t help but click my fingers and be all swag-a-licious. Oh gosh, what is happening to me. So adorable, Elina had tears in her eyes!!! Such an emotional time for everyone involved :’)

~

5. United Kingdom
Electro Velvet – Still in Love with You

COULD NOT STOP SMILING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PERFORMANCE. Usually the UK entries are pretty ‘meh’, but this one was just so darn adorable and happy! Let’s hope they get a better placing than they usually do!

~

6. Armenia
Genealogy – Face The Shadow

Taking a break.

~

7. Lithuania
Monika Linkytė & Vaidas Baumila – This Time

Ok I’m back. Oh, it’s the love song. It’s the kissy-kissy couple. Monika is so pretty. I just love happy songs right now. I’m so happy, I don’t know what to do with myself.

~

8. Serbia
Bojana Stamenov – Beauty Never Lies

Gonna take another break whilst Snow White does her thang. The next 3-4 songs are gonna take it all out of me.

~

9. Norway
Mørland & Debrah Scarlett – A Monster Like Me

Isn’t Mørland just darn handsome?! Where do we find Monsters like these two gorgeous Norwegians?!

~

10. Sweden
Måns Zelmerlöw – Heroes

I can’t even. Since I saw Måns perform in Semi Final 2- I just… I just can’t. I’ve been resisting liking him (because we all know I need to stop liking all things Swedish), but he just exudes such confidence and manliness and THAT SMILE. OK?! THAT SMILE. He could legitimately make a girl pregnant just by that smile. Damn it.

~

11. Cyprus
John Karayiannis – One Thing I Should Have Done

Poor Cyprus having to go after the perfection that is Sweden. It’s a slow song too- oh dear.

~

12. Australia
Guy Sebastian – Tonight Again

Wow ok. It was really weird typing out ‘Australia’ and ‘Guy Sebastian’ in a Eurovision post, but whatever. So, this is my country. You wouldn’t think it, considering I’m all decked out in Swedish things…

OOOOHHH MMYYY GOOOOODDD I AM SO PROUD OF AUSTRALIA RIGHT NOW. SO PROUD OF GUY SEBASTIAN. WOW. THAT WAS FLAWLESS. DAMN. I CAN’T. My hands are shaking, my heart is pounding, I’m having a heart attack.

~

13. Belgium
Loïc Nottet – Rhythm Inside

Genuinely upset that Belgium had to go after Australia… because Guy Sebastian’s song was all “THIS IS ONE TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW”… and poor Loïc had to follow that act. And he’s number 13 too. Number 13 is apparently unlucky. Ah well, I still love Loïc and I still love this song.

~

14. Austria
The Makemakes – I Am Yours

Hipster central. Love it. Still shaking from Australia’s performance. Wow, that fire in the piano though. How does that work?! This is a really cool song, I love it- gonna add it to my Eurovision playlist for sure.

~

15. Greece
Maria Elena Kyriakou – One Last Breath

Here come’s the wind machine.

~

16. Montenegro
Knez – Adio

I love languages. I wish I could speak all the languages in the world. We need more songs in different languages on Eurovision, for reals.

~

17. Germany
Ann Sophie – Black Smoke

Decent song. Love the wink she gave the camera.

~

18. Poland
Monika Kuszyńska – In the Name of Love

Brb, taking a chocolate break.

~

19. Latvia
Aminata – Love Injected

Ok, I’ve finally stopped shaking from watching Australia perform. It only took like, 7 songs later. I like Latvia- really unique song.

~

20. Romania
Voltaj – De la capāt (All over Again)

Love this song, love the message it sends, love that it’s in Romanian.

~

21. Spain
Edurne – Amanecer

Little red riding hood turns into golden goddess. I actually really like this song! Good job Spain. Edurne sure has many talents- what with the singing and dancing and good looks.

~

22. Hungary
Boggie – Wars for Nothing

Pretty song. #PEACE yo.

~

23. Georgia
Nina Sublatti – Warrior

What a diva… but unfortunately it’s time for a guy to win Eurovision.

~

24. Azerbaijan
Elnur Hüseynov – Hour of the Wolf

Yay I love this song 🙂 Beautiful. I like wolves.

~

25. Russia
Polina Gagarina – A Million Voices

She’s pretty and this is a really pretty song- but I still want a guy to win this year.

~

26. Albania
Elhaidi Dani – I’m Alive

Ok, I don’t get it. There are SO many Albanian fans all over social media. I don’t get if it’s the citizens of Albania spamming in order for the rest of Europe (and Australia) to vote for them, or if it’s genuinely people who think Albania is the best entry this year?! Because yeah, she has a nice voice and a nice song, but it just gets swept under all the AMAZING songs this year. Like seriously, if you haven’t- just go and check out a random Facebook post on the official Eurovision Song Contest page and you’re bound to see a plethora of “ALBANIA #1” and the like.

~

27. Italy
Il Volo – Grande amore

Finishing it off with an EPIC song! I love Italy. I love this song. I love that it’s just so grand and orchestral and Italian.

~

THE VOTING. MY FAVOURITE PART OF EUROVISION IS THE VOTING. So intense. Sent in my votes for Sweden and Belgium.

OH MY GOD HOW INTENSE WAS IT ALL?! RUSSIA AND SWEDEN NECK AND NECK. AND AUSTRALIA GAVE SWEDEN 12 POINTS, AND SWEDEN GAVE AUSTRALIA 12 POINTS HAHAHAHAHA. I can’t handle it. I’ll be back when the winner is announced.

~

OMG SWEDEN WON. OMG SWEDEN WON! MY SECOND HOME!!! HAHHAHAHA.

WELL, IT’S BEEN AN AMAZING EUROVISION YEAR. THANK YOU ALL FOR HAVING TO PUT UP WITH ME AND MY EUROVISION OBSESSION.

EDIT: Check out my afterthoughts on Sweden winning Eurovision! Caution: contains a sleep deprived and delirious Leonie:
