April was such a mixture of emotions. It was immensely fantastic because I finally got to see Demi Lovato live, as well as Sam Smith. At the same time, it was tremendously horrible because I’m still trying to find the light at the end of my anxiety-filled existentialism and self-loathe. My psychologist keeps telling me I need to focus on my strengths rather than my weaknesses, but I’ll have you know that it’s a lot easier said than done. She also told me I should get my eyebrows waxed and groom my hair more often, so… there’s that too. You know you’ve hit an all time low when even your psychologist comments on your appearance (although she did say that I have nice-coloured skin).
Anyway, here are some of the things that I did enjoy in the month of April.
1. Macbook Air 13″ Sleeve/Case
I have been obsessed with Etsy lately mainly because a lot of the things on there are handmade. Anything handmade becomes a lot more worthy in my opinion. Anyway, I wanted to buy a little sleeve for my macbook just so it would be protected from getting scratched in my backpack and I stumbled upon this one.
There’s an assortment of different designs that you can find but I gravitated towards this one because it reminds of Scandinavia- what with the houses and the apple trees and the bicycles… too cute. It’s made out of linen and it’s really soft and padded on the inside so it does the job of protecting my Macbook perfectly. Furthermore, there’s little pockets on the outside where you can store pens and pencils.

2. Macbook Decal Sticker
I am not a Mac fangirl- if anything I prefer PC. Something about Mac just seems generic to me and I think it’s to do with the fact that everyone pretty much has one and they all look exactly the same. I can definitely see the appeal of it though- it’s very sleek and very nice. However, I wanted to add my own personal touch to it- something that pretty much says that this Macbook belongs to me. So I got a Macbook decal from Etsy and it says ‘Adventure Awaits’.
I got it because I’m probably going to be stuck behind my screen especially considering that I plan to work in the digital world- but even though that’s the case, there is still adventure and nature out there that awaits. The decal is great quality and was super easy to put on. The great thing is that you can also take it off without leaving any sticky residue.

3. Silicon Keyboard Cover for Macbook
Again, wanting to personalise my Macbook, I bought a silicone keyboard skin. I love the ombre style of this and I got the yellow and blue one (for Swedish pride purposes). I’ve seen a lot of people who have a keyboard skin and theirs tend to fall off really easily, but the one I got from Etsy really sticks and moulds nicely to my keyboard.
I highly recommend a silicone keyboard skin especially if you’re really nit picky about germs getting in the tiny crevasses of your keyboard.

4. “Future Author” Canvas Book Tote
So I’m trying to make a conscious effort to live more sustainably (because #climatechange) and one of the ways is by saying NO to plastic bags. I was in a bookstore the other day and I really wanted to buy some books but I didn’t want to carry them in a plastic bag, so I looked around for some tote bags and stumbled upon this one.
It was love at first sight. I’ve always been a dream of mine to write and publish a book one day… so in a way, the bag is a bit of motivation to make my dreams come true. It’s a lot to live up to though, haha. Furthermore, the bag was made in the U.S.A. which is pretty sweet. I like things that haven’t been made laboriously by underpaid workers in Asian countries.

5. Sweden- Lonely Planet Travel Book
I’ve been feeling nostalgic and wanderlust lately especially since I’m following a lot of Swedish Instagram and Facebook accounts… Sometimes I wish teleporting was a thing. So I went out and bought myself the Lonely Planet travel book for Sweden. I just like putting it on my desk because it’s like I have a little bit of Sweden in a neat little book right in front of me, and for now that will just have to fulfil my heartache over Sweden.

Anyway, here’s hoping May will be a terrific month! Actually, it’ll probably be the same as April- a mixture of emotions. It’s the last month of the semester which means there’s a plethora of assignments due… but at the same time, EUROVISION!!!
